a puzzle indeed
it’s taken me more than a year, but i am — at last — finished with my latest painting.
or paintings, perhaps i should say. 54 tiny canvases (4×4x1) all combined to make one giant work. if you were wondering what i was doing over thanksgiving, wonder no more. (the picture is taken with the canvases laid out flat on a sheet, cos i was painting on the floor — but theyre arranged in the same way theyll be hung).
now i am working on finagling my way through The System to get the proper means to hang the thing. 54 holes in the wall = not the landlord’s fave idea ever. and, because the painting is supposed to be the faces of a rubik’s cube, i’m hoping to hang it in such a way that the panels are movable. what fun is a rubik’s cube you can’t move?!?! i’ve found THE PERFECT means to hang the painting. but sadly, said Perfect Means was conceived of and manufactured by Starbucks corporate. So this week i’ll be crafting the perfect letter, hoping to convince them to let me buy one of these Perfect Means. and hoping that their new motto “Just say yes” extends to more than just coffee.

Groooooovy! I need to commission a “Nicole in her twenties” work of art. ;-)
For the first time ever, I solved a Rubik’s Cube last night. Now I read this post!
Wow.
Amazing.
don’t you LOVE rubik’s cubes? best game EVER! i solved one once, with help/directions at the end — so now i’m trying to do it without those. its gonna be a looooong ride :)
